The Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, Oba AbdulFatai Oyegbemi, on Monday announced the dethronement of six chiefs over their attendance at the Labour Party’s campaign flag-off in Apapa ahead of the Lagos State local government elections.

Oba Oyegbemi, during a palace meeting, expressed displeasure that the chiefs attended the event without his knowledge or consent. He further accused them of violating palace protocols and impersonating him at the political gathering.

The dethroned chiefs include Chief Taiwo Hassan (Bale Oke Ira), Chief Saliu Biliamin (Bale Alafia Dodoro), Chief Lateef Ojora (Bale Alaba Oro), Chief Idris Ojora (Bale Abule Kere), Chief Sule Balogun (Balogun of Abule Kere), and Chief Hakeem Oseni (Bale Mosafejo Amukoko).

In a statement from the palace, Oba Oyegbemi explained that the decision was taken to preserve order and coherence within the kingdom’s leadership structure.
