Police Identify Tamilore Odunsi’s Roommate as Suspect in Fatal Stabbing Over Pet DisputeAuthorities in Texas have identified Chester Lamar Grant as the individual responsible for the fatal stabbing of British-Nigerian nursing student Tamilore Odunsi, who was killed just days before her graduation.

Houston police said the 40-year-old male roommate attacked Odunsi, 23, following an argument over pet cats they both kept in their apartment. The two had reportedly only lived together for about two months.

Officers discovered the crime on April 26 during a welfare check, after noticing blood on the patio of the residence. Inside, they found Odunsi with multiple stab wounds and Grant with self-inflicted injuries, including a stab to the neck.

According to investigators, Grant attempted to take his own life after the attack by stabbing himself six times. He was hospitalized in critical condition but later recovered enough to be charged with murder. Grant was officially booked into jail on May 3 and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, May 5.
