NNPC Partners BUA to Develop Mini Gas Facilities in Kogi State

The Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited is set to break ground on five new mini-LNG plants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. The plants, scheduled to be launched on Thursday, are PRIME LNG, NGML/Gasnexus LNG, BUA LNG, Highland LNG, and LNG Arete. President Tinubu is expected to attend the groundbreaking ceremony.

These mini-LNG plants aim to boost power generation and increase access to Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) as a clean cooking fuel. The NNPC Ltd also collaborated with BUA Group to secure a license for another mini-LNG plant in Ajaokuta from the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).

The development of these plants is part of the NNPC’s efforts to enhance domestic gas utilization for businesses and industries. This initiative is expected to contribute to Nigeria’s goal of achieving universal energy access by 2030.
