Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has addressed ongoing rumors regarding his strained relationship with Nigerian music star Davido. In a widely shared video online, VDM claimed that their friendship turned sour after he turned down an alleged ₦50 million offer to run political campaigns for Davido’s uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke. His statement comes amid mounting public curiosity over why the two figures are no longer seen together.
Recounting the incident in Pidgin English, VDM stated that Davido and his team approached him with ₦50 million to meet the governor and offer his endorsement. He noted that despite the massive sum of money, he chose to reject the offer. VDM added that their last direct communication involved a promise Davido made to gift $5,000 to a young man in Ghana. After facing public backlash from critics who believed the pledge was a publicity stunt, VDM said he sent a private message to Davido asking him to fulfill the payment, which was subsequently sent to the recipient.
VDM did not provide documented evidence to substantiate his claim regarding the ₦50 million offer, and Davido has not issued a public response to the statements. While the two previously enjoyed a close and supportive friendship, fans continue to speculate about a fallout given their lack of public interactions in recent months.
