Nigerian actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has been listed among The Hollywood Reporter’s “Most Influential Women in International Film,” which highlights 46 women driving impactful change in the global film industry.Akindele shared her excitement on Instagram, expressing appreciation for the recognition. She called it both an honour and a motivation to keep pushing creative boundaries and supporting others in the industry.

She noted the feature as more than a personal milestone, describing it as a reminder to continue building and creating fearlessly. The announcement, made on Friday, May 9, is a landmark achievement for Akindele, who has established herself in Nollywood through record-breaking projects like Omo Ghetto: The Saga and A Tribe Called Judah, along with the popular TV series Jenifa’s Diary.

Her consistent achievements have positioned her as one of the most influential and commercially successful personalities in Nigerian entertainment.She also extended her congratulations to fellow honoree Mo Abudu, acknowledging her as a key figure in advancing the creative sector in Nigeria and across Africa, and as a source of personal inspiration.
