Despite a temporary ceasefire, Israeli airstrikes hit multiple towns across southern Lebanon on Thursday, killing at least 29 people, including four members of the same family, and injuring 42 others, according to health officials and local media reports.Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that an airstrike in Jibchit destroyed a residential building, leaving four people dead and nine others injured.

In Toul, another residential building was struck, resulting in four deaths and 11 injuries. The agency also confirmed that two people were killed in Harouf after an Israeli aircraft bombed a house in the area. Lebanon’s Health Ministry said five women and two children were among those killed in the three attacks, while 23 people sustained injuries, including seven women and six children.

A separate strike in Jibchit claimed the lives of an entire family of four after their home was completely destroyed.Another attack in Toul killed one person and left two others wounded, including a girl reported to be in critical condition, after a residential house was bombed. Israeli warplanes also targeted Zebdine, where at least six people were killed, according to NNA.

In Shaabiyeh, located in the Tyre district, two people lost their lives while another person was injured in a separate strike. An airstrike on Qana, also in Tyre, left two people dead and one injured. Ahmed al-Husseini, deputy mayor of Jannata, was killed in another strike that hit the area between Maaroub and Hmairi in Tyre. A separate attack on Alhenniya killed a father and his daughter, the report added.

The Lebanese army said one of its soldiers, along with family members, was killed when their home in Kfarreman, Nabatieh, was struck. According to Anadolu’s count, Israeli forces launched 73 airstrikes and artillery attacks across Lebanon on Thursday alone. Warplanes also struck Sultaniyeh, while artillery shelling was reported on the outskirts of Zawtar al-Sharqiya and Mifadoun.

Since March 2, Lebanon has faced an ongoing Israeli military offensive that has killed nearly 2,600 people, injured more than 8,000, and forced over 1.6 million people—roughly one-fifth of the population—to flee their homes. Although a 10-day ceasefire that began on April 17 was later extended to May 17, Israel has continued near-daily violations through airstrikes and the destruction of residential buildings in southern Lebanon.
