The Enugu State Government has announced a ban on the pasting of posters on outdoor surfaces and spaces without prior approval. This move aims to put an end to the defacing of public and private spaces. According to the government, defaulters will face a fine of up to N50 million. This decision is part of efforts to maintain a clean and organized environment in the state.

Frank Aninwike, General Manager of the Enugu State Structures for Signages and Advertisement Agency (ENSSAA), made this announcement in a statement. He emphasized that it is now mandatory to obtain written approval from the agency before posting or displaying posters.

Aninwike stated that this directive applies to all individuals and entities, including political parties, churches, schools, printers, advertisers, marketers, producers, and the general public. He warned that failure to comply with this directive would amount to a violation of Section 4(1,g), Section 33, and Section 34(4,9) of the ENSSAA Law, 2016.

“This is to inform all the political parties, churches, schools, printers, advertisers, marketers, producers and the general public that henceforth, no person or entity should paste or display any poster on public or private structures without permission from the agency.

“Please note that pasting or displaying of poster without first obtaining the written approval of ENSSAA shall attract a fine of up to N50 million only.
