At a press conference, Special Adviser Imran bn Usman announced that 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state would each nominate three students for the scholarship, with Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, allotted 10 placements. “The Kebbi State Government will cover the cost of the students’ travel to Saudi Arabia, while the Saudi Government will take responsibility for their education and welfare upon arrival,” Usman explained.

He also stated that Saudi authorities have set specific criteria for student admission, including a maximum age limit of 18 years and the requirement for academic examination to meet the necessary standards. “Saudi professional examiners are already in Kebbi for the pre-departure evaluation of the students,” Usman added.

He further clarified that each LGA will submit the names of two male students and one female student, who will pursue first-degree programs in either conventional faculties or Religious Studies. Imran also emphasized that Governor Nasir Idris is deeply committed to fostering good governance through piety and the promotion of religious values within the community.
