A man reportedly divorced his wife at a police station in Minna, Niger State, shortly after her arrest during a security raid on a hotel.A security operative who spoke anonymously to *Daily Trust* said the woman was among several individuals apprehended during a clampdown on hotels suspected of harboring *sara-suka* gang members and drug traffickers.

Her marital status was only revealed after she was taken to the station and relatives of the detainees were contacted. “Following recurring youth restiveness and attacks on innocent residents, the Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, recently toured Minna and directed security agencies to go after those behind the unrest,” the source explained.

The operation targeted hotels believed to be hideouts for criminal elements. During the raid, several suspects, including women, were arrested. “To our surprise, a man showed up at the station claiming one of the arrested women was his wife. Right there, he declared a triple talaq divorce, ending the marriage on the spot,” the officer added. He said the police were yet to begin investigating the suspects when the man arrived and made the pronouncement.
