The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a young woman identified as Esther Akwaji.A source who spoke to LIB said the deceased, who lives in Nasarawa State but was visiting relatives in the FCT, left her family home on January 21 to visit a bank in Dei-Dei and did not return. Family members later received a call from her phone, allegedly from a man who claimed to be her boyfriend. According to him, Esther had come to see him and he bought food for them.
He said that while they were eating, she suddenly started vomiting. He claimed he rushed her to Kubwa General Hospital, where doctors confirmed she had died. The man reportedly fled the hospital shortly after and has since remained unreachable.Confirming the incident, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, told LIB that the command has begun a full investigation. She said Esther’s body has been deposited for an autopsy, while efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the suspect who fled.
