Social media personality and relationship therapist Blessing CEO appeared before the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday following her arraignment by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N69.15 million fraud.

The anti-graft agency, through its Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, accused the influencer of obtaining money under false pretences and allegedly stealing a total of N69,150,000. During proceedings before Justice R.A. Oshodi, prosecution counsel C.C. Okezie urged the court to proceed with the arraignment, insisting that the defendant had been properly served with the charges.

Counsel to the defendant, Nkama Nneka, contested the move, arguing that the charges had only recently been served on her client. After hearing arguments from both parties, Justice Oshodi ruled that the arraignment should proceed in accordance with the law. The charges were subsequently read to Blessing CEO, formally commencing trial proceedings. The case marks another legal challenge for the social media influencer, whose comments and activities have repeatedly generated public debate and controversy.Further updates are expected as the court case progresses.
