Afrobeats sensation Rema has claimed the top spot as Nigeria’s most-streamed artist worldwide for the first quarter of 2025, solidifying his status as a dominant force in the music industry. He leads a star-studded lineup that includes Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, and Ayra Starr.

According to new figures from Debut Hub, Rema’s global hit Calm Down, featuring American pop star Selena Gomez, racked up a staggering 223 million streams between January and March 2025. This achievement also pushed his overall global streams to over 2.5 billion.Burna Boy followed in second place with 171 million streams, while Ayra Starr secured third with 169 million. Davido claimed fourth with 113 million streams, narrowly edging out Wizkid, who finished fifth at 102 million.

The top 20 list showcases the global appeal of both mainstream Afrobeats acts and gospel artists, underlining the genre’s diversity and reach. The rankings emphasize the continued dominance of familiar names while spotlighting the growing impact of gospel artists like Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, and Moses Bliss in the global streaming space.
