The Fusengbuwa Ruling House of Ijebu-Ode has formally dismissed the lineage claim submitted by Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, stating that the genealogy form he submitted for the Awujale selection process is “null, void, and without effect.”
In a letter dated December 11, 2025, now circulating widely on social media, the ruling house said its inquiry found no record connecting Ayinde to the Jadiara Royal House or to the larger Fusengbuwa lineage, which is responsible for producing the next Awujale of Ijebuland. The letter, signed by the Chairman of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, Otunba Lateef Owoyemi, also questioned the validation of Ayinde’s submission, noting that it was endorsed by Adetayo Abayomi Oduneye—described by the ruling house as an unrecognized individual with no ties to the Jadiara Royal House.
The ruling house further pointed out irregularities in the certification timeline, noting that the form was endorsed on December 8—two days before Ayinde himself signed it on December 10—calling the document “pre-signed.”“Our thorough review has not produced any evidence to show that you belong to the Jadiara Royal House or, by extension, the Fusengbuwa Ruling House,” the letter stated.
It added that Oduneye had no authority to act on behalf of the family and therefore lacked the legal standing to certify any lineage documents. “As a result, the completed lineage form is declared null, void, and without validity. For clarity, your claim to membership of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House is rejected,” the letter concluded.
KWAM 1 submitted his lineage documents after receiving an additional five days beyond the official December 5 deadline. His submission drew considerable public interest due to his longstanding affiliation with the Fidipote Ruling House, through which he holds the title of Olori Omooba of Ijebuland. In the form, Ayinde claimed that he descended from the Setejoye family unit of the Jadiara Royal House through his father, Adisa Adesanya Anifowoshe, with Oduneye serving as the attesting officer.
