Actress Lizzy Anjorin has accepted a celebrity boxing challenge involving her long-time rival Iyabo Ojo, years after the idea was first proposed by entertainment promoter Paul Okoye. Anjorin made the announcement in a post on Instagram on Sunday, bringing renewed attention to the ongoing dispute between both actresses.
She stated that as of May 3, 2026, she was ready to take on the challenge. However, she attached conditions to her acceptance, insisting that Okoye must first step into the ring for a 10-round boxing match with her husband, Lawal, before she would face Ojo the following day. She added that the sequence of fights must be strictly followed as part of her terms.
Anjorin also called for both Okoye and Ojo to publicly disclose evidence of their assets and achievements, further intensifying the personal exchanges that have fuelled their feud over the years. The disagreement between Anjorin and Ojo has lasted for several years, marked by social media clashes, court actions, and petitions to law enforcement agencies.
Okoye had initially proposed the celebrity boxing concept in 2024, offering a N10 million reward for the winner of the bout. Tensions escalated further in 2025 when Ojo filed a N1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin. Although the case was later struck out on procedural grounds, Ojo reportedly indicated her intention to pursue additional legal steps. Anjorin’s acceptance comes amid a growing trend of celebrity boxing events in Nigeria, including recent bouts where entertainer Portable lost to comedian Carter Efe at a Lagos event.
