Pastor’s Wife Freed from 5-Day Detention: Port Harcourt-Based Prophet Umueke Miracle Invited for Questioning Amidst Allegations of Financial Abuse and InfidelityProphet Umueke Miracle, leader of Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries, has been invited by the police for questioning following allegations of detaining his wife, Success, for five days in a house in Port Harcourt’s GRA area. Success alleged that her husband had been accumulating properties in his name while engaging in extramarital affairs.
She also claimed that Prophet Miracle had subjected her to financial abuse, controlling her finances and forbidding her from opening a bank account or having independent financial resources.” We have been married since 2017. Anytime we have issues, he would put me under house arrest. He made it clear that I should not have my own money or even open a bank account, but he wasn’t giving me money either,” Success exclusively told SaharaReporters.
“Regarding the current issue, he made some rules that I should not have my own money, I should not even open bank account. But he is not giving me money.” The wife revealed that she secretly opened a bank account and started a small business to support herself, but Prophet Miracle discovered the account and allegedly tricked bank staff into revealing her account balance. He then detained her, confiscating her phones to prevent her from contacting anyone.
She said, “Anytime I tell him that he should settle me (give me money) that I want to go, I want to leave him, he will say he has no money. I keep telling him that he should remember how I helped him, how I suffered with him and it will be my loss to leave him without being settled. “So I thought of having a bank account. I opened Access Bank account. And I started doing some business. I started selling water and other stuff needed in the ministry. I told some of the staff about it and they helped me in getting sales.
“They always send money made from the business into my Access Bank account. My husband did not know about it.” “Then he accused me of stealing his money and running a business under his ministry without his permission,” Success said. She said, “He lied to the bank staff the he wanted to make a deposit of N500 million in the account since I am his wife. This is what made the bank to check what I had in the account. They told him my balance.”
“He told me he was going to sue me and has kept me here since Tuesday night. It’s not a prison; it’s a normal house that I think he rented,” she added. The police intervened, mobilizing a team to rescue Success from detention. An investigation is currently underway to establish the facts and determine the next course of action. The Rivers State Police Commissioner, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, ensured a swift response to the allegations, dispatching a team led by DPO Abacha to rescue Success.
“They will say these things so that the situation will look very serious. They will say, ‘Someone is dead,’ and when you rush there, ‘they will admit that nobody died, and say ‘my husband was beating me but if I didn’t say that, the police may not come.’ That is how they tarnish people’s image. I don’t even know the pastor; they say his name is Pastor Miracle. I’m a very decent human being who was brought up well; I’m not that kind of person.”
The incident has sparked concerns about the pastor’s behavior and allegations of him having undue influence over police leadership in the state. As the investigation unfolds, more details are expected to emerge about the circumstances surrounding Success’s detention and the allegations against Prophet Umueke Miracle.
