Abdulrahman Muhammad Sulaiman, known as Mai-Kadama, a Senior Special Adviser to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, has resigned from his position and left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection followed his meeting with Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, in Abuja on Thursday.

Mai-Kadama, who served as the Senior Special Adviser on Entrepreneurship, made his announcement abruptly. Before switching parties, he held key roles, including leading the Kwankwasiyya movement in Plateau State and heading the G-6 faction in Kano State.

Senator Jibrin shared the news on Facebook, stating that Mai-Kadama’s move to the APC is aimed at promoting good governance and development. His post read:

“Another plus for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a top shot of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Kwankwasiyya movement, Abdulrahman Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya joined the party.

Today, Mai Kadama Kwankwasiyya was in my residence in Abuja, where he dumped the red cap and joined the largest political party in Africa, APC. With the change of party, he announced that he is now Mai Kadama Maliya. The grassroots politician also announced his resignation as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kano State on Entrepreneurship II.

Mai Kadama also announced his resignation as the leader of the Kwankwasiyya in Plateau State, leader of the G-6 in Kano State, and the national chairman of Kwankwasiyya Akasa A Tsare, to join our fold to promote good governance and fast-track the development of our state and the country as a whole.

The brand new Mai Kadama Maliya called on his young political comrades to join our great movement to deliver more dividends of democracy to our people.

As I said previously, our party, APC, is the only party genuinely committed to enhancing the standard of living of our people. Let’s do it together; the train can accommodate all.”

This significant political shift underscores Mai-Kadama’s dedication to contributing to the APC’s goals of development and good governance.
