UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has strongly criticized Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Labour-led government, urging immediate action on immigration by adopting the Conservatives’ proposed Deportation Bill.

In a video posted to her official X (formerly Twitter) account, Badenoch expressed dissatisfaction with Labour’s immigration plans, calling them insufficient and far from the scale of change needed. “I think Labour are taking us for fools. Quite frankly, they are taking us for fools,” she said in the sharply worded address.

Badenoch condemned Labour’s immigration policies as contradictory, accusing the government of opposing reforms it claims to support. She emphasized the need for significant changes, including the introduction of legislation such as capping immigration numbers.

She also pointed out the necessity for “systemic change” and criticized Labour’s watered-down proposals, including reducing the time for indefinite leave to remain from the Conservatives’ proposed 15 years to just 10 years.

Badenoch further highlighted the strain on public services, including housing shortages and difficulty accessing GP appointments, as evidence of an overstretched system. In a follow-up post on X, she reiterated her criticism: “Labour has blocked every serious step to stop illegal and legal migration. Today’s vague promises come with no plan and no timetable. Our Deportation Bill is tougher and ready to deliver. They should stop taking the public for fools and back it.”
