The Anambra State Government has sealed a shrine in Umuofor village, Ojika, Ihiala Local Government Area, allegedly used by Ekene Igboegbueze for illegal activities promising supernatural wealth. This decision was made after the government received complaints from the Okija community and discovered an online video featuring Igboegbueze claiming to perform rituals for wealth.

The shrine was sealed off by the Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Community Security, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, who led the Operation Udo Ga-Achi team to the site. Emeakayi explained that the government’s actions were prompted by Igboegbueze’s admission to conducting “Oke ite, Yahoo Plus, Awele” rituals, which violate Anambra State’s Homeland Security Laws.

In addition to sealing the shrine, the state government has also confiscated all properties acquired by Igboegbueze with the proceeds of his alleged illegal activities. The items found at the shrine will undergo forensic testing to determine the next course of action.

The Director of Operation Agunechemba Security Outfit, Mr. Chinenye Ihenko, warned youths about the dangers of patronizing fake native doctors and pastors who promise quick wealth, emphasizing that these individuals are deceitful and promote a “get rich quick” syndrome in the state.
