Afrobeats sensation Rema thrilled fans at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony on Friday night, delivering a standout performance alongside BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Brazilian singer Anitta at SoFi Stadium. The trio performed their collaborative single, Goals, for the first time live, blending Afrobeats, K-pop and Latin pop in a vibrant showcase that kicked off the tournament in the United States.

Representing three different regions of the world—Africa, Asia and Latin America—the artists brought a global flavour to the ceremony. Rema took to the stage in a white hooded outfit and capped off the performance with an energetic Afrobeats-inspired rap verse celebrating ambition, success and his rise on the international stage.

Released in May, Goals features on the Official FIFA World Cup 2026 Album and was produced by Grammy-winning producer Cirkut alongside Bava and Pink Slip. The song has quickly gained popularity among fans ahead of the tournament. The star-studded event also featured performances from Future and Tyla before the United States opened its campaign against Paraguay. Rema’s appearance came just a day after Burna Boy joined Shakira in Mexico to perform Dai Dai, the tournament’s official anthem, during a separate opening ceremony event.
