A cleaner who stole luxury handbags and jewellery from her clients’ homes was exposed after posting a photograph of herself wearing some of the items on Facebook.Roseann Pelosi, 62, took several high-value goods, including a Gucci necklace, a £20,000 Hermès handbag and two diamond engagement rings, from properties she cleaned in Lanarkshire between 2023 and 2024.
Her actions came to light when relatives of the homeowners recognised the stolen items in images she shared on social media.Last Thursday, at Hamilton Sheriff Court, Pelosi, who is from Glasgow, pleaded guilty to eight charges of theft. The court heard that she had been hired by a family to clean three homes they owned in Lanarkshire.
Pelosi, who operates Rosie’s Gleaming Cleaning in Glasgow, admitted taking a cream Gucci handbag and a silver Gucci necklace from a property in Bothwell. She also stole a Hermès handbag, a Gucci sweater, another black Gucci handbag and a bottle of perfume from the same residence.In addition, she targeted a house in Coatbridge, where she stole a three-stone diamond engagement ring. From another property in the same town, she took a nine-stone diamond engagement ring.The case was uncovered after the stolen luxury items were identified in photographs Pelosi posted online.
