The Jigawa Hisbah Board has confiscated and destroyed alcoholic beverages worth N5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area. The Hisbah Commander, Malam Ibrahim Dahiru, disclosed this during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Monday.

According to him, the operation, which resulted in the destruction of 400 cartons of alcohol, was led by the Chairman of Kazaure, Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa. The alcoholic drinks were seized during various raids conducted at bars across the area. Dahiru reiterated that the consumption of alcohol is prohibited throughout the state and that the board remains committed to combating immoral activities, including alcohol consumption.

He called on residents to continue supporting the board by providing useful information that would aid its operations. He also urged the public to refrain from engaging in behaviours that could harm societal values.
