Justice Musa Kakaki of the Federal High Court, Lagos, has ordered the interim forfeiture of Proxy Lagos Night Club, owned by Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, over alleged drug-related offences. The nightclub, located at No. 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, was forfeited following an ex parte motion filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) through its counsel, Barrister Buhari Abdullahi. The motion, marked FHC/L/MISC/1161/2025, listed Pretty Mike and one Joachim Hillary as respondents.

Abdullahi, citing various sections of the NDLEA Act and the Constitution, asked the court to grant an interim forfeiture order in favour of the Federal Government. He also requested that the club’s operations be suspended pending the conclusion of an ongoing drug investigation. The NDLEA alleged that the nightclub was used for storing, concealing, and distributing illicit drugs, including 169 cylinders (384.662 kilograms) of nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, and 200 grams of cannabis sativa. The agency said the substances were intended for use during an illegal “drug party.”

According to an affidavit by Nasiru Garba Bungudu, a Deputy Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA operatives received intelligence in October 2025 about plans to host a large drug-fueled event at the club. Acting on the tip, NDLEA officers from the Lagos Strategic Command raided the premises on October 26, 2025, during which the drugs were recovered and over 200 people, including the two respondents, were arrested.

The affidavit stated that laboratory tests confirmed the seized items to be nitrous oxide and cannabis sativa. It added that Joachim Hillary had long been involved in the sale of illegal substances within the club, allegedly with the knowledge of Pretty Mike, the owner. After reviewing the motion and supporting documents, Justice Kakaki ruled that the NDLEA’s application had merit and granted the interim forfeiture as requested. The court adjourned the case to January 28, 2026, for a report on the progress of the investigation.
