Edo police command detains three suspects following alleged assault on minors

The Edo State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with sexual assault and defilement of minors. The Commissioner of Police, CP Patrick Daaor, disclosed this on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 while briefing newsmen on its recent crime-fighting successes involving cases of murder, defilement, cultism, robbery, car theft, the recovery of ammunition and other exhibits across the state.

According to the CP, the sexual offenders were arrested for defiling a two-year-and-nine-month-old girl and a four-year-old child. “Three suspects are in the Command’s custody in connection with sexual assault and defilement of minors, including a two-year-and-nine-month-old girl and a four-year-old child,” the police boss stated. “The cases are being handled by the Command’s Gender and Family Unit, and the suspects will soon appear in court.”
