Actress Angela Okorie has revealed why she chose to burn the outfit she wore to the burial of late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo. Ekubo was laid to rest on June 18 in his hometown of Arochukwu, following an emotional funeral attended by family, friends and colleagues from the entertainment industry.

Speaking via her Instagram Story after the burial, Okorie explained that she acted on the advice of her godmother, who told her it was not proper to keep clothes worn to a burial ceremony. According to the actress, such garments should be burned, prompting her decision to dispose of the outfit she wore to the late actor’s funeral. She said she decided to share the information with family members, friends and followers so they could take note if they wished.

Okorie also offered prayers for protection and longevity, expressing hope that God would continue to preserve and bless people with long life. “This is the outfit I wore to Alex’s burial. My godmother said it is not good to have cloth you wore to a burial around you. You burn them. So family and friends, take note. I felt I should share this information. May the Lord keep us and bless us with long life,” she wrote.
