American singer and songwriter d4vd has reportedly been named a suspect after authorities discovered the body of a missing teenage girl in the trunk of a Tesla registered to him earlier this year. TMZ reported that d4vd, 20, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is a suspect in the case. NBC reported, citing a Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) source, that Burke has allegedly not been cooperative amid the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is continuing. In September, LAPD investigators served a search warrant in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez at a Hollywood Hills residence where the singer had been staying, according to law enforcement sources previously cited by KABC-TV and the Los Angeles Times.
An LAPD spokesperson said on September 18 that “several items of evidence [had been] recovered” and that investigators were “following up on several leads.”The girl’s body was discovered one day after her 15th birthday in the trunk of the singer’s Tesla at an impound lot on September 8, KABC-TV reported. Officers were called after a foul odor was reported coming from the vehicle. The car had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, and neighbors told NBC Los Angeles it had been there for about a month.
A few days later, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner identified the body as Rivas, with the date of death listed as September 8. The cause and manner of her death are still under investigation. LAPD Captain and Commanding Officer Scot M. Williams said the girl had likely been dead for several weeks before being discovered. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Rivas had been reported missing in 2024 from Lake Elsinore, California.
