Street-hop singer Habeeb “Portable” Badmus tasted defeat for the first time in celebrity boxing on Friday night after social media comedian Carter Efe outperformed him over three rounds to secure a unanimous decision victory at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event held at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The judges all returned identical 30-27 scorecards in favour of Efe, ending Portable’s reign as the face of celebrity boxing.Portable, who had previously defeated Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington to win two belts, stepped into the contest full of confidence and had vowed to capture a third title at Efe’s expense.
Before the bout, the singer had boasted that he would overpower Efe just as he did his previous opponents, but the comedian remained unfazed and confidently predicted an early downfall for Portable. Once the fight began, Efe proved his words were no empty talk. Portable charged out aggressively in the opening round, throwing his usual unpredictable flurry of punches, but Efe stayed composed and responded with clean uppercuts and body shots that visibly unsettled him.
The second round saw Portable stick to the same frantic approach, mixing wild swings with repeated clinches, while Efe grew more assured and landed the cleaner, more effective combinations. The final round followed the same script, with Efe controlling the exchanges and repeatedly connecting before the closing bell. The victory officially crowns Carter Efe as the new celebrity boxing champion. Video below : https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AeGUQHGF3/
