The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has announced that it will conduct a Brigade Inter-Battalion Shooting Competition for cadets of the 73 Regular Course on Saturday. The academy’s spokesperson, Major Reuben Kovangiya, made this known in a statement issued on Friday, advising members of the public to stay away from the shooting range area during the exercise.

According to him, the NDA wishes to inform residents of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya and the wider Afaka area that the competition will take place at the NDA Open Range in Afaka. He explained that the exercise is part of the cadets’ training programme and assured the public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the event.

However, he urged people to avoid trespassing in the area throughout the duration of the exercise for their own safety. The statement concluded with the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy, Major-General Oluyemi Olatoye, extending his assurances and best regards to the public.
