Anambra State Governor Awards N500,000 to Top NECO Candidate

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has presented a cheque of N500,000 as a cash award to Miss Ifebude Chelsea Benson, the overall best candidate in the 2023 National Examination Council (NECO) Senior Secondary Schools Certificate Examination.

Miss Ifebude, a native of Ndikelionwu in Orumba North LGA, achieved an outstanding performance, scoring A1 in all nine subjects she sat for. She has since gained admission and is currently studying Medicine and Surgery at the University of Abuja.

The award was handed over on behalf of the Governor by the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, to the recipient’s father, Mr. Ben Benson, who represented her at the event. Expressing his gratitude, Mr. Benson thanked Governor Soludo for the recognition, describing him as a leader who values and encourages academic excellence.
