A devastating fire swept through the bustling Alaba Rago Market in Lagos State, destroying goods worth millions of naira. The blaze, which started around midnight on Wednesday, ravaged the market, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Emergency responders, including the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), quickly sprang into action to battle the inferno.

Despite their efforts, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Fortunately, the situation was eventually brought under control, preventing the fire from spreading to other properties. Dr. Femi Oke-Osayintolu, Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, and Margaret Adeseye, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed that the situation had been contained.
