Nigerian Government Secures New Financier for Kaduna-Kano Rail ProjectThe Federal Government has approved the China Development Bank (CDB) as the new financier for the Kaduna-Kano rail modernization project, paving the way for its completion.

The announcement was made by the Senate on March 14, following the withdrawal of the China Exim Bank (CEB) in 2020 due to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, confirmed the development in a statement on Saturday.

The 203-kilometre standard-gauge railway aims to improve transportation between Kano and Abuja, boosting economic activities along the corridor.
