Grammy-nominated singer Davido has apologised to fans after missing a scheduled Lagos performance on Sunday, citing difficulties in securing aviation fuel. The artiste was billed to perform alongside Zlatan at Secret Place in Ikate Elegushi as part of the club’s fifth anniversary celebration.

Fans had already gathered at the venue, but Davido did not appear, sparking reactions both online and at the event. In an Instagram Story posted on Monday, he explained that logistical challenges linked to fuel shortages disrupted his travel plans and forced a rescheduling.

He attributed the situation to broader global instability, saying ongoing conflicts around the world were beginning to affect operations, including the availability of aviation fuel. According to him, the inability to secure fuel prevented his flight from taking off as planned. Davido apologised to fans who came out for the show, expressing regret over the disappointment and assuring them of a future performance.

He added that the event would be rescheduled soon and encouraged supporters to remain patient. The singer also congratulated the event organisers, reaffirming his commitment to honouring the invitation at a later date. The incident comes amid growing concerns over disruptions in fuel supply affecting the aviation sector, with rising costs and shortages continuing to impact flight operations in several regions.
