Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has approved the immediate dissolution of the Rivers State Pensions Board.The board, inaugurated on September 12 under the former Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd), had been tasked with addressing the state’s long-standing pension crisis.I
n a statement issued by the Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi Brown, the governor directed that the Office of the Accountant General will take over the functions of the board.
The statement instructed members of the dissolved board to hand over all properties and assets in their possession to the Director of Administration. It added that a new board will be constituted in due course to manage pension affairs in the state.
