
A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck northern Iran on Friday, according to the US Geological Survey, occurring as the country faced continued air strikes from Israel.
The tremor hit at a depth of 10 kilometres, approximately 37 kilometres southwest of Semnan city. Iranian state television, however, reported a magnitude of 5.5 and said the quake affected areas around the city of Sorkheh in Semnan province.The quake was also felt in Tehran, located roughly 150 kilometres from Sorkheh.
