Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has praised U.S.-trained physician Dr. Helen Mbakwe for her decision to return to Nigeria and establish the country’s first outpatient infusion and arthritis management centre.

The commendation was delivered at the commissioning of the facility in Abuja by Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, who represented the Minister. She described the initiative as a major advancement in Nigeria’s healthcare sector.Dr. Mbakwe highlighted the impact of infusion therapy in treating arthritis, particularly for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.

The newly launched Frontline Infusion and Arthritis Outpatient Medical Facility provides advanced infusion-based therapies, non-surgical interventions, and personalized care plans for arthritis and other chronic autoimmune diseases.

Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Dr. Abubakar Kana, called the centre a timely effort in addressing Nigeria’s ongoing medical brain drain.
