The Bashar Chiefdom Community Development Association has conveyed its deep appreciation to Plateau State Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang following the reinstatement of Alhaji Abdullahi Idris as the Rekna of Bashar in the Wase Local Government Area. In a joint statement issued by the association’s president, Dr. Zakari Mohammed, and the secretary, Alhaji Yunusa Aliyu Garba, the group characterized the governor’s decision as an exemplary display of statesmanship and true leadership. They noted that the move highlights a genuine commitment to preserving cultural heritage, fostering unity at the grassroots level, and encouraging peaceful coexistence throughout the state.

Speaking on behalf of the entire community, the association leaders expressed heartfelt praise for the governor’s unifying choice. They described the return of the traditional ruler as a victory for justice and fairness, aligning with the community’s collective hope to protect their revered traditional systems. According to the group, this resolution proves that the administration is attentive to the voices of the public and prioritizes community harmony above partisan differences. The leadership further emphasized that resolving the leadership dispute within the chiefdom will strengthen existing peace initiatives both within the Wase Federal Constituency and across the wider state. They commended the governor’s preference for consultative governance, an approach they believe builds trust and mutual respect among the diverse ethnic and religious groups residing in Plateau State.
